After you've done the lesson, feel free to write comments below sharing some of the discoveries you had in doing the lesson.
- Lesson Title: Sidelying, sliding hands and knees
- Teacher: Lynette Reid
- Length: 42:54 minutes (9.82 MB)
- Format: MP3 Stereo 11kHz 32Kbps (CBR)

familiar lesson
This is a very familiar lesson which I've taught dozens of time and done dozens of times. When I was going over it myself to have it kinesthetically fresh for teaching, there were no big new "aha" moments for me, but lots of relief for my tight shoulders that were busy thinking so hard about what to teach this weekend and how.
I also had a lot of fun feeling new things about where my shoulder joint really is in relation to my chest, and feeling what the movements in the *front* of my chest, around my clavicles and sternum (as well as the movement of the whole sternum in softening and turning forwards towards the floor to let the chest and spine turn).
Old Brit moves hips
Lynn and group,
Greetings from S'toon! Tried the first lesson with the cats running interference. It was interesting to try a new motor pattern - knees out, hands in. I thought that the pacing was spot-on - gave me time to creak into a new position!
Great fog horn imitation Lynn!
Cheers,
Nigel West
Thanks for sharing this file
Thanks for sharing this file on the web. I found this ATM really helpful in releasing my whole left part of the back from the hips to the neck. In the end when I stood up, I could feel the left side of my body connected all the way from the foot to the neck and it felt like my left leg was almost an inch longer than the right.
My body felt light and connected - an experience I've previously had only after taking an AT lesson with a teacher.
Amazing what a simple lesson
Amazing what a simple lesson can do, no? Did you do the other side, or stay with the asymmetrical feeling?
I did on the other day, 2
I did on the other day, 2 lessons in a row take a long time.
Although I felt distorted, my other side adjusted after a few others and felt more relaxed too.
No Luck
I cant play this file do i have to be a member to play it. I am awaiting approval. Thanks.
yes you have to join
Hi Daniel,
Yes, you have to join, as you have--I was in the Netherlands for three weeks with spotty internet access, hence the delay in approval! But you should be good to go now.

Thank You
Thanks for making all these lessons available. They will be very helpfull to me and a lot of other people im sure. This was an interesting lesson for me. i like doing lessons that involve moving the arms but I don't enjoy moving the hips so much because it is more diffiult. but with this lesson I could feel my hips improving as a result of moving my arms and shoulders not because of actually moving my legs or hips. That is one of the reasons I like feldenkrais so much you can do something on one area of the body yet get the benefit somewhere different.
Back again
I am back again to the beggining for a second run.
synchronicity
Hi Daniel! Interesting synchronicity. In the summer at the Yoga Loft, there's a big sale on unlimited drop-in passes. So we have a lot of new students every week, rather unpredictable, and last night I pulled out this lesson to teach again (I didn't record).
I've been moving house and traveling this summer. This week I uncovered the recorder again! So there should be new recordings coming up soon.

Hello. I am back again after a computer disaster. Hope that recorder wasn't damaged in the move ha ha. I have found a few more lessons on this site marinmovement.com and also here http://www.kinestheticedge.com/. There is also feldenkrais-online.biz where you have to pay(Boo) but there are 2 free lessons whitch I couldn't get to work. Wonder if anyone else has any luck.
Hey Daniel, Thanks for the
Hey Daniel,
Thanks for the tips! I could get kinestheticedge to work (but it was a low sound level--I had to turn up the volume). But marinmovement.com seemed to be messed up. The sample lessons at feldenkrais-online.biz did work for me--the one I've done so far is excellent teaching! I have visited and had an FI and an ATM with her (Vreni Booth) in England.

it looks like
it looks like marinmovement.com works and has a collection of recorded ATMs -- if you visit with Internet Explorer.
